The below photo is not in my official portfolio because it's not technically excellent and was taken on my iPhone, but it's the most special to me because it's the photo that made me realize that I want to be a photographer. In 2018, I was living in London for a finance internship and captured this while I was passing by on my lunch break. I love how tender the moment is and that you can see the connection between these two. After I got home from London, I bought my first camera (a canon rebel t6i) with my newfound internship money, enrolled in a photography class, and volunteered to be an event photographer at my college. Since then, I've taken photos of family, friends, and more strangers on the street, and have finally decided to pursue the thing that has always made me most happy. When I look back at this photo, it's a reminder of the power photography has to capture meaningful moments and genuine human emotion, which is exactly what I aim to do.
